Oliver Mourgue's "Bouloum" Lounge Chair - 1968

$3,000.00
Sold Out

Rare and early ‘Bouloum’ chair designed by Olivier Mourgue and first edited by Airborne International, France.

“Anthropomorphic and iconic, Bouloum was crafted for the whimsical ones.”

Though his Djinn series of furniture was more popular, partly due to its appearance in 2001: A Space Odyssey, it seems to have been Mourgue's own favorite of his furniture designs. Mourgue was in fact known to carry a Bouloum chair around the world with him as he made something of a hobby of documenting the chair's journey around the world by photographing it in various locations. Mourgue believed people invent while playing. Originally produced by Airborne in France, it has been in continuous production through Arconas since their purchase of Airborne in 1972.

H: 26.5in , W: 31.25in L: 53 in
