Prattfall Easy Chair by Philippe Starck for Driade, 1983

$1,300.00

The Pratfall easy chair is a universal design icon that marked the beginning of the successful collaboration between Philippe Starck and Driade.‎

Philippe Starck was creating the private apartments of the Palais de L'Élysée for François Mitterrand, President of the French Republic.‎ For the president's private office, Starck imagined a place geared towards meditation and for which he created a comfortable yet minimalistic 3-leg seat, which became the Pratfall armchair, produced by Driade from 1985 to 2003.‎

Black painted tubular steel structure and curved plywood mahogany finished shell. Polyurethane foams padded seat with black leather fixed cover.

A few minor scratches and wear on the plywood (see pictures).
