Eva Lapka was the Head of the ceramics department at Visual Arts Centre, Montreal, until 2013.

The piece is probably from the mid-1970s during the early part of Milan and Eva Lapka’s career since they arrived in Montreal from Czechoslovakia in 1968. In their shared pottery work, Eva was responsible for forms and Milan for glazing and firing.

Over her long career, Eva Lapka has become known and respected as a sculptor.  In 2012, she became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy.

Eva continues to exhibit her work in both solo exhibitions in Canada and Europe, as well as group shows in Canada, the United States, and China and her work can be found in selected Corporate, Private and Public Collections.
